What to Expect at a DustOff Yoga Class

Supportive Guidelines

  • You are always in control of your practice. The practices offered are suggestions. The instructor is a guide to assist you on your journey

  • Everything is optional

  • Feel free to come out of a posture at any time and take a resting position

  • We invite you to honor and respect your body and breath wherever it may be

The Amenities

Our sanctuary boasts exclusive anti-microbial and anti-bacterial yoga flooring, providing dense shock-absorbing cushioning to alleviate stress on joints and bones, ensuring a comfortable and stable practice.

We offer all the essentials you need, including a variety of props, heated or chilled eye coverings, complimentary White Mountain spring water, and a unique retail space.

Beyond the sanctuary, you'll find a cozy community area for relaxation and socializing with friends, both old and new.

Explore our commUNITY lending library and take advantage of complimentary mat storage for monthly members.

The Experience

All classes at studio sanctuary are trauma-informed and authentically reflect the experiences of our teachers. Our class styles vary, offering inclusivity to all. You may expect that all classes provide the following elements

  • Pranayama: Breathing practices and breath awareness; how are you breathing and how does it feel?

  • Asana: The physical element of a Yoga practice; a sequence of postures to move, open, strengthen and rest your body.

  • Somatic Practices: Intentional movement focused on the internal experience rather then the external appearance or result of the movement.

  • Meditation: The invitation to explore inner awareness with your body and thoughts during stillness; this looks and feels different for everyone.

Visit the schedule page and choose the class you would like to attend. You can manage all bookings and cancelations within your studio account.

  • We ask that if you can't make it to class, please cancel your registration 4 hours before class start time. This allows time for someone else to sign up, OR for a waitlisted yogi to take your spot.

We understand that life has unexpected surprises which may affect your ability to attend class at the last minute.

Please email the studio if you are unwell or have experienced an emergency that will prevent you from attending class and this will be considered.

In the event of a no show or cancellation inside 4 hours of start time, you will forfeit the class credit. Our talented instructors are paid based on registrations, so please understand that a no show or cancellation less than 4 hours is a forfeit of your class (or a $10 fee for Unlimited Members).

HERE ARE A FEW TIPS FOR YOUR FIRST CLASS

  • Please arrive 10-15 minutes before start of class to allow time to sign in and get settled.

  • We encourage you to discuss any concerns, physical or otherwise with instructor before class. This information will help us keep you safe during practice. ALWAYS check with your doctor if you have questions regarding practice and health issues.

  • We strongly encourage you to bring your own mat for hygienic purposes. If you decide to a studio yoga mat, please wipe it down with spray provided at end of class.

  • Please wear comfortable clothing thats easy to move in. Traditionally yoga is practiced in bare feet, but you can always keep your socks on if you want.

  • Please turn off cell phones before entering studio.

  • PLEASE LISTEN TO YOUR BODY! IF SOMETHING HURTS, DON’T DO IT!! A little discomfort is normal when we move in new ways, but yoga should not cause pain. Listen to your body and if you feel pain, or want to stop for any other reason, please honor your body wherever it may be in that moment.
